Killeen is a city located in Bell County, Texas, United States. It is situated in the central region of Texas, approximately 70 miles north of Austin and 60 miles south of Waco. Killeen is part of the Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood Metropolitan Statistical Area. It covers an area of 54.2 square miles and has an estimated population of around 153,000 people as of 2021. Some of the key attractions in Killeen include the Vive Les Arts Theatre, Lions Club Park, and the Fort Hood military base. The city is also home to several museums, such as the Mayborn Science Theater and the Third Cavalry Museum. Killeen is easily accessible by road, with Texas State Highways 195 and 190 running through the city.
